MEMBER-MEMBER (Calcutta)

Given the amount of money at stake in the Calcutta, we will be requiring physical scorecards to be turned in for each player in addition to the scores being entered online. If there are discrepancies between the two, you may be subject to disqualification. So, please be sure to double-check all scores with your playing group at the end of your round.
Format:
• 2-man Team
• 2 days with 18 holes each day
• The team’s best net score (of the 2 net scores) will be counted on each hole.
• Individual Skins ( Gold / Blue ) and ( White / Green ) tee groups
Handicap Allowance:
• Each player’s Event Handicap will be equal to 85% of Men’s Club Course Handicap.
• Handicaps will NOT adjust during the Event.
• Allowances are based on the USGA recommendation for this format.
Team Selection:
Players must sign up with a partner.
• Current Members: Will be required to have 10 rounds recorded for this event. Returning members can use a maximum of 5 rounds from previous year and 5 rounds from the current year To equal the 10 rounds required to qualify for this event. Current Member can apply for a possible medical exception in the current calender year for review by the committee to reach the required 10 rounds required.
• New Members will be required to have 10 rounds recorded this year to be eligible for this
event.
Event Play:
• Each player plays his own ball on every hole.
• Record each player’s gross (actual) score for each hole on the BOTH SCORECARD AND THE ONLINE SCOREING SYSTEM MUST BE USED FOR THIS EVENT. BOTH MUST BE TURNED IN AND VERIFIED BEFORE TURNING THEM IN.
• The team’s best net score (of the 2 net scores) will be counted on each hole.
• Player’s net score for each hole will be determined by reducing his gross score by one stroke (two strokes when warranted) on any hole where a player’s Event Handicap is equal to, or higher than, the assigned course handicap for the hole.
• When a player’s Event Handicap does not dictate receiving a one-stroke reduction based on the course handicap for the hole, the player’s net score for the hole will be equal to his gross (actual) score.
• After the completion of play, the Scoring Committee will use the scoring system to calculate/determine the best net score on each hole. The sum of these net scores will represent the team’s score on each hole; and, ultimately, the 36-hole net total team score for the event.
• Each team’s placement (order of finish) in the event will be based on the 36-hole net total team score.
• Please see Appendix III for bad weather policy.
Payouts & Skins Game:
• The number of places paid and corresponding Pro Shop credit amounts will be determined, and announced, in advance based on the portion of the Men’s Club budget that has been allocated for this event. The event will include the following payouts for Pro Shop credits:

Appendix I: Handicap Examples

Example 1:
Player A has a Men’s Club Course Handicap of 7 and his partner (Player B) has a Men’s Club Course Handicap of 18. Applying the recommended 85% handicap allowance for this tournament format, Player A would be reduced to a handicap of 6 (7 x 85% = 5.95), and Player B would be reduced to a handicap of 15 (18 x 85% = 15.3). Player A’s Event Handicap would be 6, and Player B’s event handicap would be 15.

Example 2:
Player A has a Men’s Club Course Handicap of 6 and his partner (Player B) has a Men’s Club Course Handicap of 13. Applying the recommended 85% handicap allowance for this tournament format, Player A would be reduced to a handicap of 5 (6 x 85% = 5.1), and Player B would be reduced to a handicap of 11 (13 x 85% = 11.05). Player A’s Event Handicap would be 5, and Player B’s event handicap would be 11.

Appendix II: Calcutta

The Falls Golf Club has nothing to do with the Calcutta. The Pro Shop will not be able to answer any questions regarding the Calcutta, so please direct any questions to the Men's Club Committee via fallsmensclub@gmail.com.

The Calcutta is a live auction of the teams. Bidding on teams other than your own is encouraged, but not required.

➢ WHEN: To be Determined, on an evening of Tournament Week.
➢ WHAT TO EXPECT: The Committee will supply a team listing that includes the Event Handicap for each player/team to aid in your bidding. To save time, bidding should generally be done in $50 increments with
opening bid at $100.
➢ WHAT TO BRING: Enough cash to cover any teams that you plan to buy that evening as all team purchases must be settled at the end of the Calcutta. Only CASH will be accepted, and exact change is required. Keep in mind that the ATM gets heavy use on these evenings, so please prepare in advance. In the past, teams have gone from anywhere between $300 – $1,000+.
➢ TEAM RIGHTS: Teams have the right, but NOT the obligation to buy 50% of themselves. However, any percentage other than 50% would have to be negotiated with the owner of the team. For example: If the team members only wanted to buy 30% of their team, the team owner could reject the request as team owners are NOT required to sell anything except a 50% stake.
➢ BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK: There will be no refunds of Calcutta money unless the entire two-day event is cancelled. See the bad weather policy in Appendix III. If an emergency arises BEFORE a team tees off on day 1 of the event, then please contact the Men's Club Committee via fallsmensclub@gmail.com. Once a team hits its first shot of the tournament, there will be absolutely no refunds of Calcutta money if that team decides to quit for any reason.

Appendix III: Bad Weather Policy

Any cancellation of a day (or the entire event) will only occur when staff from The Falls Golf Club closes the course. Due to the course’s tournament schedule, we would not be able to reschedule a two-day event for later in the year. Therefore, if we are only able to complete one day of play, all payouts will be based on that completed day, including the Calcutta. If a team decides not to continue play for any reason, the team (and its owner) will not be eligible for any Pro Shop Credit or Calcutta payouts.
